The considerable electricity requirements of a modern data centre are regulated and distributed through an array of electrical cabinets. Due to their very nature, these are at once a fire hazard and a critical link in the chain that ensures a data centre’s continuous service.

Because they sit in closed casings, a fire caused by electrical distribution wiring or components would not initially be visible to staff or detectable by room-level fire detection systems. With SecuriSmoke ASD, the enclosed nature of the cabinets can be turned to an advantage by aspirating air directly from them and sampling it for smoke.
