When AI is the issue – and humans are the answer
29.06.2026
At the beginning of June, more than a hundred Securiton managers from all over Switzerland met up for two days. The key question – how can artificial intelligence be used in such a way that it really makes a difference? The answer was surprisingly human.
At a workshop on the topic of AI, it is reasonable to expect that things will revolve around technology, tools and efficiency. However, at Securiton the two days focused on something else – people. Under the motto “Leading with Artificial Intelligence”, this year’s management workshop was less about what AI can do and more about how we can manage it.
Not hype, but change
For Securiton, things are clear. Artificial intelligence is not a temporary trend or a technical gadget, but a change that affects everyone. This is precisely why the management team deliberately took the time to talk not only about technology, but also about attitude – and how to support the people who are experiencing this change every day. Between curiosity, opportunities and very real uncertainties.
But things didn’t stop at talking. During workshops, the managers worked together to develop specific approaches on how AI can be used effectively in day-to-day work. The Executive Board also didn’t take a back seat here. In an open forum, it discussed what AI means for the individual divisions of the company. Not with ready answers, but instead with the will to play an active role in shaping change.
People remain at the centre
Throughout both days, there was a firm belief that the true value of technology is only revealed through the people who use it. CEO Martin Altorfer put it succinctly: “The focus is on people. Technology never works alone.” For Securiton, this quote perfectly represents how the company understands change – namely as a shared path that is followed responsibly and with the aim of leaving no one behind.
From benefit to impact
Using AI makes us faster, and understanding it gives us the power to act. But it is only by managing it that it really becomes effective. The task of managers is therefore not to master the latest technology, but to give it a direction – and to create the framework in which people can try out new things without fear of making mistakes.
A workshop on artificial intelligence then became one thing above all else: a commitment to how Securiton shapes change – with attitude, with impact and with a quiet but clear promise that people are at the heart of it.
