Suspended Ceilings and Raised Floors
Data centre design commonly uses suspended ceilings and raised floors in order to accommodate the large amount of cabling required for power and connectivity. From a fire safety perspective, these two features present similar hazards and challenges. On the one hand, the space is concealed from view and therefore a smoldering fire from a faulty cable or connection will not be noticed; on the other hand, they are hard to access for the purposes of device maintenance and testing.
SecuriSmoke aspirating smoke detectors can be installed in a convenient location for access, while their sampling pipes can extend inside ceiling and floor voids to offer early and reliable fire detection across a large area.
