Radisson Hotel Estland

Radisson Collection Talinn

Tallinn’s first five-star Radisson Hotel with top-tier fire protection from Securiton.

In May 2022, the hotel chain Radisson opened the first Radisson Collection hotel in the Baltic States in the Estonian capital Tallinn. Formerly known as the Radisson Blu Sky, the renovation saw the hotel enhanced to five-star standard. The fire alarm system is also of the highest quality, with the system and combined detectors from Securiton ensuring reliable protection.

The Radisson Collection hotel in Estonia is a new highlight in the Radisson portfolio. Formerly known as the Radisson Blu Sky, the hotel has recently undergone an extensive renovation costing 25 million Swiss francs and is now of five-star standard. Guests at the grand opening at the start of May 2022 also included Prime Minister Kaja Kallas. The renovation work started in summer 2019 and was successfully completed at the start of 2022. The hotel now has 287 rooms, including 19 suites consisting of the Presidential Suite, Premium Suites and three unique Fitness Suites. On the second floor, a 1,000-square-metre conference centre was completely renovated. The centre has eight rooms, the largest of which has space for up to 300 people. A Japanese-Peruvian restaurant and bar is located on the 24th floor and offers breathtaking views over Tallinn. There are currently only 28 Radisson Collection hotels around the world.

The local Securiton partner Optimus Systems AS was responsible for the concept and planning of all the security systems in the Radisson Collection Tallinn. The fully redundant system architecture of the Securiton fire alarm system and the reliability of SecuriFire convinced the investors and was one of the main reasons why they chose Securiton and Optimus for the project. The SecuriFire fire alarm system offers virtually unparalleled protection against fire. All components – from the microprocessor through to the operating system – are provided in duplicate. This redundant system architecture means SecuriFire can offer something no other system can – the secondary system takes over operation seamlessly if the active system should fail.

The lift shafts at the Radisson Collection Tallinn are equipped with highly sensitive SecuriRAS ASD aspirating smoke detectors, with 1,600 SecuriStar MCD 573X detectors installed throughout the rest of the building. These multi-sensor smoke and heat detectors provide early detection of smouldering, glowing and open fires with smoke development. Cubus levelling means the detectors adapt to the ambient temperatures in the room and can regulate their smoke sensitivity independently. Black detectors were also installed in Tallinn where necessary to blend in with the surroundings.
