Power Generation

Alongside the battery room, power generators are a key element of a data centre’s uninterruptible power supply. But they are also a fire hazard, running hot and involving flammable lubricants with a high fire load. Because of the exhaust fumes inherent in diesel- or gas-powered generators, smoke detection is not appropriate. Instead, the generator is carefully monitored for heat patterns indicative of a fire.

SecuriHeat ADW is a unique, extremely sensitive pneumatic line-type heat detector which proves ideal for monitoring power generators. The sensing element is a sealed metal or Teflon tube which is practically impervious to dust, moisture or even cleaning processes; the control unit can be situated at a convenient access point; and testing and maintenance is minimal. SecuriHeat ADW combines its sensitivity with an advanced algorithm that discerns the heat signature of a real fire from that of general environmental changes, and therefore offers a highly reliable fire detection performance.
