Specialist protection for 23km of priceless archives

Historical Limburg is one of the Länder of the Netherlands and the town’s archive stretches for 23km inside a complex heritage building.

It includes the oldest book ever published in the Netherlands, and required a specialist fire detection set-up after the old system of wirelessly connected spot detectors was found to be deficient.

After battling with the problems of old buildings, complicated archive systems and a location 13 metres below sea level, Securtion Partner ASTEC found a solution using SecuriSmoke ASD alongside SecuriBeam ILIA industrial grade beam detectors.

Since replacing the old, non-Securiton system with the new ASD and Beam set-up, no flow faults or false alarms have been raised. The result is a happy end-customer and better protection for Limburg’s priceless historical archive.
