Bratislava Castle, which for centuries has been a prominent and outstanding feature of the city, towers eighty-five metres above the Danube. But once again the ravages of time had not spared this impressive historic structure. Sections of the Castle had fallen into ruin, and in the course of its history it had been damaged by fire and undergone several phases of reconstruction. Now a listed building, it is currently undergoing restoration on a large scale. As the landmark of the city of Bratislava the Castle is a recurring motif; indeed it also features on the Slovak Republic’s euro coins.

A Securiton Product Event was held in Budapest on 28 January 2010. Many of our business partners seized this opportunity to attend an impressive presentation of the advantages of the SecuriRAS ASD 535 aspirating smoke detector. Our visitors also received additional information on the Securiton range of heat detectors.

During the last years the Terminal 1 of the International Airport in Mexico City has undergone an upgrading and modernization process which includes the installation of fire detection systems in the operational areas of main importance.

From September 23rd to 25th Securiton participated at the 8th Shanghai International Fire & Security Equipment Technology Exhibition at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. The event attracted more than 270 participants from many different countries like the United States, Britain, France and Germany. On 12,350 square meters space, the exhibition displayed the most recent fire alarm systems, fire fighting and rescue equipment and other kinds of fire products from all over the world. Thousand of people visited the exhibition during the three days.

New on the market yet already making its presence felt, the SecuriSens MHD 535 multipoint heat detector has been specified for the refurbishment of the fire alarm system in the Seelisberg Tunnel. The 9.25 kilometre tunnel is on the A2 motorway and thus an important element in Switzerland’s busy north-south axis. The MHD 535 fully meets the requirements of the country’s Federal Roads Office.

The 2009 Road World Championships in Mendrisio were a huge success for Switzerland in many ways. Fabian Cancelara won the time trials and came 5th in the road race. The venue Mendrisio introduced the whole world to the Ticino region. As a pool sponsor at the event the Securitas Group put in an impressive performance as a specialist in complete security services and high-tech security technology.
