National Library of Romania
While construction work on the National Library originally began in 1986 during the Communist period, a total redesign was launched in 2006. At 100 million euro it is the largest investment in culture that Romania has seen in the past 20 years. The reading rooms cover a surface area of 14,000 m2, with an additional 3,500 m2 set aside for the depository and 8,000 m2 for office space.
Universidad Nacional de Córdoba
The Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC) is the second largest university in Argentina and is domiciled in Cordoba. It is the country's oldest University and the fourth oldest in South America. Its teaching is free, and very well conceptualised. It is the second university in the country in terms of teacher and student numbers.
In autumn 2011 our Spanish partners Aguilera Electronica were commissioned to equip the Schindler escalator installation at the Intercambiador Avenida de América transport interchange in Madrid with a SecuriSens MHD 535 fire detection system. The Intercamiador is one of a total of 7 transport interchanges where the metro, buses and trains converge.
The town of Landskrona has approx. 40,000 inhabitants and is situated in the heart of the Öresund region, which comprises the area of Malmö and Copenhagen. Selma Lagerlöf, the first female writer to win the Nobel Prize in Literature and most widely known for her children’s book Nils Holgerssons, worked here as a teacher and later began her career as an author.
Securiton Protection for Moscow Planetarium
The Moscow Planetarium was once the showcase for the space nation’s status and achievements. But following the fall of the Soviet Union there was a lack of both funding and general interest in the institution. Nonetheless, after a closure of 17 years and various delays in the renovation work, the Planetarium re-opened in June 2011. It is now all the more resplendent and boasts a reliable fire protection system from Securiton.
The Legislative Palace is a building constructed between 1908 and 1925 in Montevideo, capital of Uruguay. It was inaugurated on August 25, 1925 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It is the headquarters of the Uruguay Legislative, the General Assembly, which consists of two chambers – the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate – that work separately or jointly according to the circumstances.
Korean tunnel safe thanks to Securiton
Due to its geographic position, South Korea is an excellent location for worldwide maritime trade. In order to further increase the country’s economic attractiveness for international trade, a new highway has been built in the south. Among other cities, the route will link the strategically important seaports of Mokpo and Gwangyang, thus considerably improving the area’s infrastructure. Simultaneously, the new highway will enhance tourism along Korea’s south coast.
