Sugar factories Aarberg and Frauenfeld AG

Secure production in the Aarberg sugar factory

In Aarberg and Frauenfeld are two factories whose mission it is to ensure that we do not lack sweets: the Sugar factories Aarberg and Frauenfeld AG. To secure production, the plant in Aarberg commissioned Securiton to set up a new fire detection system and a security management system. Just 200 years ago sugar was still considered a luxury item for the well-to-do, since at that time sugar cane was the only source for sugar. Only after Andreas Marggraf discovered sugar in the turnip in 1747 was it possible to produce sugar in our European latitudes. Today around 7,100 farmers grow sugar beets in Switzerland on 18,000 hectares. Sugar beets are processed in the Aarberg plant during the so-called "campaign" from the end of September to the end of December. Each day 8,500 tons of sugar beets are processed to produce 1,000 tons of crystal sugar, 200 tons of syrup, 200 tons of molasses, and 2,000 tons of pressed remains (nutritious animal fodder).

Expandable system

It goes without saying that a production operation of this dimension considers security to be a major issue and is especially interested in new security-related solutions. The sugar factory in Aarberg was aware that the existing fire detection system belonged to an outdated generation, was limited in its expandability, and thought that easy-to-use central operation of all systems from the control panel was a pipe dream. But Securiton AG, thanks to its SecuriPro, was able to offer high-quality fire detection systems based on a new generation security system. Further, Securiton recommended the SLS-Pro security management system to centrally manage all subsystems. Flexible system structures and the special SLS-Pro software adapt to virtually any conceivable requirements while permitting you to upgrade and expand the system at any time. All major security systems on the market, including their applications, can be integrated and linked to the SLS-Pro system by means of special drivers.

High standards for everyone

The only sugar production company in Switzerland feels obliged to set an example. Its self-imposed high standards for quality apply to all areas of the enterprise. The company also expects the same of its partners and suppliers. Security and safety are no exception. Securiton is therefore particularly proud to have been given the contract by the Aarberg sugar factory to set up its security system. The implemented solution is not only custom-tailored to the on-site conditions but is also designed to be 100% viable into the future!!
