i-Lids

iLids is a department of the Scientific Development Branch (part of the Home Office) which deals with vision-based detection systems. Here in Langhurst (West Sussex), there are many real and laboratory test facilities. iLids was the first institute worldwide to have official access to all public surveillance cameras (UK) for test purposes under real conditions. The British iLids certification is all-embracing and functional, and is not at all comparable to those of VdS in Germany, which primarily determines the suitability of the network parts and protection against sabotage. For UK government tender procedures, this certificate is a mandatory requirement for approval. The police, the judiciary system, the UK Border Agency, operators of critical infrastructures, etc. have access to the test results.
