The protection of people, assets and the environment becomes crucial whenever conventional fire protection reaches its limitations. Corrosive gases, extreme humidity, high temperatures and polluted air entail difficult operating conditions for reliable fire detection. The TSC 515 system features a very high level of safety, low planning expenditure and simple installation and mounting. It is also maintenance-free and can be fully configured and evaluated through software. The TSC 515 meets the response behaviour according to EN 54-5, class A1. It is used mainly for long measured distances, e.g.:
- Road/railway tunnels, underground railways
- Multi-storey car parks, refrigerating plants
- Conveyor installations and belts, protection of industrial premises
- Manufacturing lines, refineries
- Incinerating plants, disposal infrastructures
- Gas and district-heating lines
- Saw mills, agriculture
Mode of operation
Small temperature sensors are fitted at regular intervals along a sheathed ribbon cable used as a data and supply bus. The TSC 515 is an encapsulated acquisition and bus system integrated in the cable and has a high resistance to environmental pollution.
The sensors are continually scanned for the latest measured values. An evaluating logic uses the values obtained to determine when to report a fault or alarm. A special software is used for the settings and configurations. The system can be connected either to a PC or to a fire alarm control panel for evaluation purposes.
