With its level-based concept our Galaxy System can be ideally adapted to your company’s organisation. It features simple user operation under Windows and communicates with outside systems using SQL or ODBC. With its decentralised intelligence it guarantees maximum system stability and cost effectiveness in every aspect.
Galaxy’s underlying hardware and software structure (and therefore its costs) varies essentially according to the size of the company in question. We offer our customers four configuration levels: GalaxyEasy, GalaxyOffice, GalaxyPro and GalaxyExpert. The in-depth analysis of your company operations will reveal which of these four solutions and performance modules is best suited to your needs.
Galaxy PASS - Keeps unauthorised personnel out
With its easy-to-edit daily and weekly schedules Galaxy PASS guarantees individual access control systems and protection against unauthorised access. All you have to do is define your employees’ access rights in accordance with your security arrangements; at a higher level the works calendar regulates the days off and days in lieu.
To cover your company’s security requirements at every level, our solutions integrate interfaces to outside systems such as building services control systems or alarming systems. The recorded data allows you to pinpoint and remedy any security breaches and abuses quickly and precisely.
Galaxy TIME - Time management module
Time and attendance recording has lost some of its significance in recent years – wrongly so since labour legislation requires that employers furnish proof of actual working hours. Today employees no longer "clock in" their working hours; instead they record their working hours on workstation PCs or on mobile devices such as cell phones or Palm computers.
In 2003 Galaxy TIME was enhanced with new modules that optimise the recording of working hours on PCs:
- Intranet-capable Web-Gemini-TIME with absence approval procedure for company superiors and monthly report printout options
- VISTA visitor information system
- Automatic data synchronisation between TIME and WORK
Galaxy PLAN - Personnel planning module
Galaxy PLAN is used primarily in organisations that operate around the clock. It is detached from the 7-day week and allows open-ended roster planning in organisations such as police departments, hospitals and nursing care institutions. In the past, scheduling was done manually on paper; today there is a noticeable trend towards electronic scheduling combined with time recording synchronisation.
In 2003 Galaxy PLAN was enhanced with new functions that greatly facilitate the planning of individual employee rosters. The clearly structured assignment schedules can be printed out.
Galaxy WORK - Job time and performance recording
Performance recording, which in the past was used mainly in the production sector, is now also gaining ground in the administrative and service sectors. Public offices, municipalities, utilities, etc., are increasingly under pressure to cut costs and are turning more and more to cost-performance accounting.
Filling out work papers by hand is being replaced by the recording of working hours and performance on workstation PCs or Palm computers (PDAs). Expenses, assigned resources and other special cost items are entered directly on the PC or PDA. In future the ability to log one’s performance while on the move is set to become increasingly important for field-service employees.
In co-operation with our customers our products are continually being developed to optimise both user convenience and the workflows between HR departments, operations planning and scheduling and the employees themselves, ideally to achieve the paperless office.
The recorded times and performances are automatically synchronised with personnel time and performance recording. In 2003 Galaxy WORK was enhanced with new functions that optimise the logging of performance data with bar codes in service and production operations:
- WORK terminal, PC-based
- with interface for bar-code scanners to read in job and performance data
- with interface for Libra ID readers for personnel time recording
