In addition to responsibility for security systems and services, Securitas Group Switzerland also assumes the role of host in Shanghai. Enthusiastic clients accepted our invitation on 21 June and enjoyed VIP hospitality in the Swiss Pavilion.

At the end of January the world-famous Polo World Cup on Snow was held for the 26th time on the lake of St Moritz. And once again the Securitas branch in Chur was entrusted with the security arrangements. The new and close co-operation between Securitas and Securiton was an all-out success.

By December 2009 at the latest most people had heard of Electronic Monitoring (EM). Indeed it is the system used to monitor the house arrest of film director Roman Polanski at his chalet in Gstaad. The technical infrastructure is operated by Securiton. However the anklet restraint used in this particular case is just one type of EM application; the system itself is very versatile.

Following a spate of negative incidents on Bahnhofplatz (the square outside the main railway station), Lucerne’s municipal government adopted a package of measures in 2008. It also approved an extension of the city’s public video surveillance, combined with measures in a areas such as policing, construction, social affairs and general cleaning. Also under camera surveillance are the city’s historic wooden bridges and most recently the Stadthaus. Securiton installed the entire video surveillance system and is responsible for its maintenance.

BSI AG, the Ticino’s oldest established bank, is today represented all over the world. With more than 2,400 employees worldwide the BSI has been part of the Generali Group for some twelve years now. In late 2007 it took over the Banca del Gottardo. Its headquarters, a building designed by Ticino star architect Mario Botta, was incorporated into the BSI and renovated on a grand scale. The complete security system from Securiton was upgraded and now comprises the very latest fire and intrusion alarm systems as well as access control and management systems.
