ADW 511 protecting floating roof tanks in India

In order to reduce the risk of fire on floating roof tanks, various solutions will help to limit any major extent of fire damage. One of the most important criteria when protecting floating roof tanks is the combination of highly sensitive linear heat detector systems that will automatically actuate the fire suppression system. Since 2003, Securiton’s business partner M/s HSE Engineers Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai India, has realized several projects in India. Many Floating roof tanks and related facilities have been protected with over a hundred units of the VDS approved Class A1 rated SecuriSens ADW 511 linear heat detector. The first facility, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, Uran Plant is located in the State of Maharashtra, where 8 floating roof tanks with a diameter of 79 meters have been protected using 32 ADW 511 linear heat detectors. Another facility of Indian Oil, Paradeep Refinery is located in the State of Orissa. Here, 30 ADW 511 are installed to protect 15 floating roof tanks. The third facility viz. IOCL, Mundra in the Gujarat State consisting of 12 tanks is protected by 24 units of ADW 511 linear heat detectors. A third plant in Peddapalli, located in the Ramagundam District, Andhra Pradesh has been realized with 2 ADW 511. All these rim seal fire protection systems have been combined with pressurized foam extinguishing systems.
