Golf Hotel in Punta Ala

Wireless protection for Golf Hotel

The Punta Ala Golf Hotel in the elegant tourist resort of the same name on the Italian coast has opted for the RTS 1000 fire alarm system from Securiton. Aesthetics and wireless alarm transmission were two of the main criteria in the choice of system. As a result guests are able to enjoy their well-earned holidays secure in the knowledge of reliable and discreet fire protection.

Punta Ala is a popular destination in the Maremma region along Tuscany’s southern coastline. In good weather the island of Elba some 30 km away is clearly visible from the small headland. The resort is particularly famous for its large marina on the Tyrrhenian coast, the luxury hotels and apartments, and the famous Punta Ala Golf Club.
The 4-star Punta Ala Golf Hotel is set in a 50,000 m² park, with 107 elegantly appointed suites offering the perfect holiday setting. Besides a beach-front restaurant and a huge swimming pool there are plenty of opportunities for exercise and relaxation, with an indoor pool, a spa and leisure area, tennis courts and the nearby golf club. The recently completed conference centre also provides the ideal venue for business meetings.

Discreet monitoring

To bring the entire hotel complex in line with the state of the art in matters of security, the management commissioned Securiton and its Italian partner Tecnologia e Logistica Srl with the installation of a suitable fire alarm system. Initially the principals and planners were faced with a dilemma. How to protect the building complex effectively against fire without the major disruption of laying alarm lines? The answer was the RTS 1000 radio transmission system from Securiton. By transmitting alarm data extremely reliably from the detectors to the control centre without the use of cables, it protected the premises while leaving the aesthetics intact.
The initial installation phase at the Punta Ala Golf Hotel lasted from January to April 2006; the second phase was completed last spring. By then more than 100 radio-based smoke detectors of the type RSD 532 had been installed, complementing the 200 conventional smoke detectors. The third and final phase is to be implemented by the end of 2008, by which time the remaining parts of the building will be fully equipped with the Securiton fire alarm system.
