Securiton RUS protects tunnels of Sochi

The Russian City of Sochi is situated at the Black Sea in the region of Krasnodar close to the border of Georgia. Due to the perfect subtropical climatic conditions, the mild winters and various places of excursions, Sochi is one of the most famous holiday and spa-towns in Russia and is visited by millions of people every year. Sochi will also be the scene of the Winter Olympic games in 2014 and from 2014 till 2020 a contract has been signed for the venue of Formula One races.
Along the black sea the area range of the city is more than 145 kilometers long. Sochi counts around 41’000 residents, including the surrounding villages the of city. The mountain chain of the Caucasus which is very close to the cost has an attitude of up to 3,350 meters. This environment attracts a lot of visitors and this generates a high amount of traffic on the main street along the black sea. In order to reduce the daily traffic jams a bypass road including four tunnels has been built a few years ago. The control and facility rooms of these tunnels are protected by several SecuriPro Systems which are networked together and visualized by an alarm management system. In the longest and newest tunnel with a total length of 2.6 kilometers a high sensitive line type heat detection system SecuriSens TSC 515 has been installed. Thanks to this, a possible fire caused by an accident or any other circumstances in the tunnel can be detected very fast and all important emergency activities can be initiated immediately. The responsible fire brigade team is based directly at the entrance of the tunnel. The total project has been finalized in 2010 and includes 38 SecuriPro Main Control Units which are monitoring all the Securiton security systems like access control, addressable line type heat detection systems, intrusion- and fire alarm.
